International conference

The international conference "Sowing season 2018": technologies of growing, harvesting and storage of grain and oil crops took place on 20-21 February, 2018 in St. Petersburg. The event brought together leading experts from Russia, China and Europe, representatives of federal and regional government, agricultural holdings and producers, trading and seed companies, producers of plant protection products and fertilizers, producers of equipment for sowing, harvesting and storing of crops, as well as specialized institutes and associations.

During the conference the following questions were discussed: the evaluation of quality of wheat in Russia, the legislative regulation of organic agriculture in Russia, rapeseed production in the EU and Russia, determination of GMO in seeds. The reports have been made on the current state of soybean production, trade and research in Asia, and the development of soybean production and processing in Russia.

The participants of the conference were asked questions, which were given qualified answers.
 
VNIIMK was represented by Alexander S. Bushnev, Head of the Laboratory of Agrotechnology, candidate of agricultural sciences. He made a report on "Efficient technologies of cultivation is a driving force for the development of oil crops production", which aroused a certain interest among the participants as it presented the state of oil crops production and the key factors allowing increase of bulk yield: new highly productive varities and hybrids of domestic breeding and efficient cultivation technologies.
