The results of “The Field day of the South of Russia 2020”
On August 4, “The Field day of the South of Russia 2020” took place in the village Voronezhskaya of Ust-Labinsky district. The event was supported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the administration office of the Krasnodar region. On one of the largest platforms the best cultivars and hybrids of corn, sunflower, soybean of domestic breeding, as well as modern technologies for growing agricultural crops were demonstrated.
V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops, as a leading breeding institution of oil crops, presented sowings of sunflower cultivars and hybrids: SPK, Caravan, Gorfild, Faktor, Natalie. The soybean cultivars were also shown: Slavia, Vilana, Selena, Vita and Zara. These cultivars and hybrids are adapted to the cultivation conditions in the southern regions and are in great demand among agricultural producers. The participants and guests of the event from the Krasnodar, Rostov and Stavropol and other regions of the country highly appreciated the sowings and noted the competitiveness of the domestic producer.
The president of the Russian Federation set the task to bring the number of cultivars and hybrids of domestic breeding in sowings to at least 75 %. As part of the implementation of this task, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education adopted a program to introduce the achievements of the Russian breeders to agricultural producers in our country.
This year, more than 60 demonstration sowings of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops were sown in 30 regions of the Russian Federation, one of which was presented at “The Field day of the South of Russia” and was highly appreciated by the guests and participants of the event.
