The full name of the institution: The Voznesensky branch of Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "All-Russian research institute of oil crops by V.S. Pustovoit".

Short title: The Voznesensky branch of FSBSI FSC VNIIMK

The Voznesenskaya experimental station was founded in 1932. In 2010, it was reorganized into the branch of the institute. In the prewar period the station developed the main elements of cultivation tecnhology of essential-oil crops. In the postwar period the breeding works on coriander, clary sage, basil, rose, and lavender were conducted. In 1961, the variety of clary sage Voznesensky-24 (breeder: L.V. Luzina) was released. O.D. Zhuravleva developed coriander variety Svetly, V.A. Maskunova developed varieties of lavender Voznesenskaya-34 and Yuzhanka. She is also a co-breeder of rose varieties Michurinskaya and Raduga. V.B. Solonitskaya developed varieties of mint Mechta, Raduga, Vesna. T.P. Shuvaeva developed a new variety of clary sage Tatiana, which essential oil yield exceeds the yield of variety V-24 by 20%. She has also developed agrotechnical methods of improving the productivity of clary sage.

Currently, researchers of the Voznesensky branch continue working on breeding new varieties of clary sage, mint, and true lavender. Their main task is the development of high-yielding varieties of mint, clary sage and lavender, resistant to adverse abiotic and biotic factors of environment, adapted to the natural conditions, and exceeding the standards in yield and essential oil by 15-20%.

There are also carried out ecological tests of promising varieties and hybrids of oil crops developed within VNIIMK and its experimental network in the southern piedmont zone (winter rapeseed and turnip rapeseed, sunflower, soybean).

The patents for a new variety of coriander Svetly and mint varieties Raduga, Mechta, Vesna have been received. Five research workers, including one candidate of sciences, are working at the branch. The branch has a factory for processing of essential-oil crops raw material.

The branch accepts orders for manufacture: dry raw materials of inflorescences of clary sage and its seeds, dry raw materials and rhizomes of mint, dry raw materials of inflorescences of lavender and its seeds, dry raw materials of petals of essential-oil rose and its seedlings.
